At the heart of GRIT Youth Community Works is the Evan’s Light Project. Established in honor of Evan Otte-Scott, this initiative serves as a protective beacon for every young athlete in West Michigan. We ensure that no player walks their path alone, uninformed, or unprotected.

In West Michigan, we pride ourselves on growth, economic development, and thriving communities. But underneath the surface lies a stark reality: opportunity is not distributed equally. For youth growing up in underserved urban centers and inner-city neighborhoods throughout Grand Rapids and Kent County, the structural pathways to athletic progression, collegiate exposure, and academic mentorship are often invisible or entirely non-existent.

GRIT Youth Football College Exposure Series
The GRIT Youth Football College Exposure Series is redefining the youth tournament landscape for athletes ages 8 to 13. By combining high-stakes, cross-regional competition with educational insight into Michigan’s great collegiate environments, we provide a comprehensive experience that builds a foundation for long-term athletic and academic success.
